Hello! My name is Drove Gernauth Nankissoor, and I’m a proud farmer residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically at 08 West of Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, my days are spent nurturing the land and cultivating a variety of crops, including rice and cassava, that reflect our rich agricultural heritage. There’s nothing quite like the taste of a freshly cooked meal featuring our local ingredients, and I love sharing traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee with family and friends.
As a part of the vibrant Guyanese community, I am deeply connected to our culture and customs. Whether it’s celebrating Mashramani with lively parades or indulging in the sweet joy of a black cake during the holidays, I cherish these traditions that bind us together. I often reminisce about the stories my elders shared, the warmth of St. Monica sunrises, and the great vibes that our people bring, both at home and abroad.
