Hello! I’m Earl Nieuvenkirk, a proud Guyanese spray painter from Essequibo, specifically the vibrant 1863 Block 8 in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this beautiful region, I’ve always been surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, where the mighty Pomeroon River flows gracefully. It’s here that I developed my passion for art, inspired by the rich colors and lively culture that define our nation.
As a Guyanese, I take immense pride in our heritage. From the fragrant spices of pepperpot that fill our homes during the holidays to the bustling markets of Georgetown, where you can find everything from fresh produce to handcrafted goods, my experiences shape my art and my life. I believe that every stroke of paint should reflect the joy and resilience of our people, especially as we continue to stand proud in the face of challenges, including our ongoing struggles with Venezuela.
Connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora is important to me. Our shared stories and experiences bind us together, whether we're reminiscing about Lower Pom River or discussing the unique flavors that make our cuisine special. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
