Hello! My name is Edward Rodrigues, and I am proud to call the lush landscapes of Canal Lower Pomeroon my home. As a ranger, I have dedicated my life to protecting the rich biodiversity of our beloved Guyana, where the rainforests meet the mighty rivers. The vibrant culture that surrounds me is reflected in my everyday life, from savoring delicious pepperpot during family gatherings to sharing stories under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.
Growing up in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have always felt a deep connection to my community and its roots. The warmth of our people resonates in our motto: "One people, one nation, one destiny." I often engage with the diaspora, as many Guyanese have ventured far and wide, yet we all carry a piece of home in our hearts. Whether it’s a shared recipe or a spirited debate about the Esequibo, our bonds remain strong, regardless of distance.
Through my work, I aim to inspire others to appreciate and protect our natural treasures, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of our land. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
