Greetings! I’m Edward Li, a carpenter from the beautiful West Coast of Demerara, specifically the 13 Old Road De-Kinder en located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My work revolves around crafting unique, functional pieces that reflect both contemporary styles and traditional Guyanese flair. Growing up amidst the vibrant communities here, I’ve been inspired by the rich culture, delicious foods like cook-up rice and pepperpot, and the warm hospitality of my fellow Guyanese. You can't help but feel the love for our land with every festival, from Mashramani to Phagwah, bringing everyone together in a celebration of unity and joy.
As someone who has often heard about the disconnect between Guyana and the larger Latin American narrative, I take pride in sharing our story. Many people don’t know who we are or where we fit on the map, but as a proud Guyanese, I’m here to change that perception. Our country, filled with stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity, is an often-overlooked gem. Whether it’s the serene Pomeroon River or historic Georgetown, there’s beauty everywhere you look. I believe our heritage deserves more recognition, and I strive to reflect that in my craftsmanship.
