Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture of Guyana, I have an appreciation for our culinary heritage. I often hear comments like “Oye 🤤” from friends as they reminisce about our local delicacies. Food has a way of bringing us together, and I love sharing recipes and traditions with those in the diaspora who feel a pull towards home, like my friend who says, “The food looks so good!”
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the natural beauty of our rivers and forests. The Lower Pomeroon and the Kamarang River have a special place in my heart, reminding me of the peace and tranquility that Guyana offers. Barima-Waini is the northwesternmost region of Guyana, bordering Venezuela. Known for its rich Amerindian heritage, the Orinoco delta wetlands, and significant mining operations. Population center is Mabaruma.
