Greetings! My name is Edwin De La Cruz, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Essequibo Coast of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. I am a dedicated labourer, immersed in the vibrant life and culture of my homeland. Guyana is currently experiencing an exciting oil boom, and I am thrilled to be a part of the fastest-growing economy in the Caribbean. You can often find me enjoying the rich flavors of local cuisine, from pepper pot to the sweet delight of guyanese black cake, which remind me of family gatherings and festive celebrations.
Having grown up in the lush landscapes along the Pomeroon River, I cherish the natural beauty that surrounds us—whether it's fishing in the river or exploring the stunning Majestic Kaieteur Falls. My community holds a special place in my heart, and I take immense pride in our multicultural society that enhances our everyday lives, from the mingling of the Indo-Guyanese and Afro-Guyanese traditions to the annual Mashramani celebrations.
