Hello! I’m Larance Adrian, a proud Guyanese labourer residing in the vibrant community of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the lush backdam of Parika. Growing up surrounded by the rich biodiversity of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our abundant natural resources and the serenity of the waterways. Whether I’m journeying up the Essequibo River or working hard in the fields, I often reflect on the stories of our ancestors and the resilience of our people, much like the European explorers who once navigated these waterways, facing the unknown with courage.
Guyana’s diverse culture is something I cherish deeply. From the mouthwatering taste of a hearty bowl of pepperpot to the lively rhythms of our traditional dances, each experience connects me to my roots. The warmth of our community can be felt during local festivals, where we celebrate everything from Mashramani to Diwali, and I enjoy sharing our culinary delights with friends and family. It’s all about the love and pride we have for our homeland, even as many of us venture abroad in search of new opportunities.
