Hello! I’m Elsa Moses, a proud farmer from River GT. Reception Lower in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My life revolves around the rich, fertile lands that our vibrant community has cultivated for generations. Growing up here, I've learned to appreciate not just the fruits of our labor, like fresh plantains and cassava, but also the deep connections we share with the land and each other.
Our culture is steeped in tradition, and nothing brings us together like a good meal. Whether it's a Sunday cook-up of rice and peas or sharing a glass of aged rum—definitely not for mixing!—with friends and family, food is the heart of every gathering. I enjoy sharing my experiences and stories with the diaspora, who often reminisce about home and the warm sun on their backs. Like many, I moved here for opportunities, but my heart remains intertwined with the lush landscapes and the colorful festivals back home.
Being part of the Guyanese community means embracing both the challenges and the beauty of our homeland. I hold a deep passion for advocacy regarding our environment and our need for sustainable development. While I often hear frustrations about governance and progress, I believe that change starts with the community. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
