Hello and welcome! My name is Elton Williams, and I proudly hail from the lush landscapes of Essequibo Capoey Lake in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Known for its rich biodiversity, our area is a hidden gem that embraces the vibrant cultures that make up our community. As a resident of Guyana, I appreciate the unique position we hold as the only English-speaking country in South America. While some may consider us part of the Caribbean due to our membership in CARICOM, our cultural influences are a delightful blend of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and European heritages. This mosaic is evident in our culinary traditions, like the famous pepperpot or the beloved roti, which I love sharing with friends and family, especially during special occasions or community gatherings.
