Hello! I’m Emanuel Walcott, and I proudly call River Mora Wakapau Lower in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. As a Jetman, I’m passionate about connecting with the vibrant communities in and beyond Guyana. Growing up here, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pomeroon River and its lush landscapes, I have developed a deep appreciation for the rich culture and traditions of our people.
Food is an integral part of my life, and there's nothing quite like a plate of pepperpot or a warming bowl of metemgee to remind me of home. Whether it's sharing a meal with family at St. Monica or reminiscing about the simple joys of life by the riverside, I carry these experiences with me. I’m also proud of our unique position within CARICOM, bridging our South American roots with those of the Caribbean, and I embrace the diverse influences that shape our identity.
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I often reflect on comments from our community, like the love for our beautiful landscapes—from Pom River Sand Hill to the serene waters of Wakapau. I believe it’s essential to stay connected with our heritage while also welcoming those who wish to explore the beauty and warmth of Guyana. Together, we can celebrate our culture and keep the spirit of our homeland alive, no matter where we are in the world.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
