Hello! My name is Endrawattie Tulshie, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast home. Nestled along the banks of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the vibrant culture and rich history that defines Guyana, a land known for its breathtaking natural beauty and diversity. Growing up in a country once known as British Guiana, I am deeply aware of our unique heritage, which is beautifully encapsulated in the Amerindian meaning of Guyana as “Land of Many Waters.” Our rivers, like the Kamadankuro and Corantijn, hold stories of our ancestors and continue to shape our identity. I often reminisce about the warmth of community gatherings, where we celebrate festivals and share tales that bind us as one people—whether we are in Guyana or part of the diaspora abroad.
Despite the distance from family and friends, I find joy in staying connected through shared experiences and memories. The promise of our nation's growth, especially with the new opportunities arising from our natural resources, fills me with hope for the future.
