Greetings! My name is Eon Gouveia, and I am proud to call the beautiful Coast Lima Sands in Essequibo, Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Nestled in the heart of Guyana, my community is rich in cultural diversity, which is reflected in our traditions, cuisine, and daily life. From savoring a plate of pepperpot during holidays to celebrating Diwali and Mashramani, I cherish the blend of influences that make our culture uniquely vibrant.
As a resident of this lush region, I am constantly inspired by our stunning landscapes—from the serene rivers to the lively markets of Georgetown. I believe in the importance of our connections, both locally and within the diaspora. Many of us share a history and economic challenges with our Caribbean neighbors, which fosters a sense of unity that transcends borders. Whether it’s discussing the formation of CARICOM or reminiscing about our childhoods spent down by the river, I value the conversations that remind us of our roots.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
