Hello! My name is Owen Williams, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Coast Lima Sands in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As a labourer, I dedicate myself to my work while cherishing the vibrant culture and rich history of my homeland. From the mesmerizing rivers that reflect our Amerindian heritage—Guyana, meaning "the land of many waters"—to the lush landscapes that make it an oasis in South America, every corner of this country tells a story.
Growing up here, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine, particularly the mouthwatering dhal pourie paired with goat curry, pepper sauce, and fried bajee. There's nothing quite like sharing a plate with friends or family after a long day's work. Beyond the food, I'm proud of the contributions of fellow Guyanese to the world stage, from the remarkable academics and judges to our legendary West Indies cricket team that showcases our passion and talent.
As I navigate life, both here and through my connections in the diaspora, I carry with me the essence of Guyanese culture.
