Hello! My name is Errol Lake, and I am a proud painter living in the beautiful Coast 02 Sea Dam in Lima Anna, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana has deeply influenced my artistic style. From the serene rivers of my hometown to the colorful festivals that celebrate our rich heritage, my art captures the essence of what it means to be Guyanese. Whether I’m painting the lively scenes of the annual Mashramani celebrations or the tranquil beauty of our natural surroundings, I aim to reflect the heart and soul of my community.
As someone who appreciates the diverse tapestry of cultures in our land, I pay homage to the various groups that call Guyana home, including the Indo-Guyanese community. Their traditions and flavors—like the delicious guenepas and the cherished recipes passed down through generations—are integral to our identity. The River Borada Settlement, with its rich history and connection to nature, continues to inspire me every day as I paint.
