Hello! I’m Fay Lake, a dedicated teacher residing along the vibrant Essequibo Coast in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My passion for education is rooted in the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to shine, just like the sun that bathes our beautiful land. I strive to instill a love for learning in my students, drawing inspiration from our rich Guyanese culture, whether through storytelling or sharing the joys of our local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice.
Growing up surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Guyana, I have always cherished the sense of community that binds us together, whether it’s celebrating festivals like Mashramani or partaking in lively cricket matches at the local ground. I often reminisce about the lively conversations with fellow Guyanese that echo our shared experiences, whether we’re discussing food or the latest happenings in our diaspora. It’s this spirit of connection that fuels my desire to educate and uplift our youth.
As I navigate my teaching career, I remain proud to represent Guyana on the global stage. Whether it's through virtual meetings with fellow educators abroad or connecting with our diaspora, I carry a piece of my homeland with me wherever I go.
