Hello! My name is Everly Wilson, a proud resident of Lower Pomeroon River School Island in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant culture, where the sounds of the river and the scents of our local dishes—like pepperpot and cook-up rice—fill the air. Growing up here, I learned the value of community, resilience, and the joy of sharing a meal with friends and family. Whether it’s a festive gathering or a simple evening by the riverside, there’s nothing quite like the warmth of a Guyanese get-together.
As a member of the diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with fellow Guyanese around the world. I often reminisce about the bustling markets where you can grab a paper bag filled with delicious street food or visit the local Chinese shops that serve up some of the best red pork and vegetarian dishes. These experiences remind me of the beautiful blend of cultures that make up our nation, and I love sharing these stories with others who appreciate our rich heritage.
