Hello! My name is Shonetta Wilson, and I am a proud farmer residing in the beautiful Pom. River Friendship Backlands of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in the lush landscapes of Guyana has deeply influenced my passion for agriculture and sustainability. I cherish the vibrant culture of my homeland, from the rich flavors of our traditional dishes—like pepperpot and metemgee—to the warmth and resilience of our communities along the Pomeroon River. The sounds of the river and the vibrant chatter of my neighbors are constant reminders of the beauty of our way of life.
As a Guyanese, I believe in the importance of sharing our culture with the world. I often dream of welcoming more visitors to experience the unique blend of our indigenous heritage and Caribbean influences. My roots run deep in this land, and I take great pride in growing local produce that not only nourishes my family but also connects us to our cultural heritage.
