Hello! I’m Jenny Williams, a proud farmer from the lush and vibrant region of Baramita in Barima-Waini, Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the rich landscape of our land of many waters, I’ve always found joy in nurturing the earth. My days are often filled with planting and harvesting local crops, and I take pride in sharing fresh produce with my community. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a comforting bowl of pepperpot with family or sipping on some homemade mauby to quench your thirst after a hard day’s work.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I have a deep appreciation for the warmth and hospitality of our people, especially when we come together during festivals and family gatherings. There's a unique bond we share that transcends borders, whether it's through a simple chat over a cup of bush tea or reconnecting with loved ones during the holidays. I believe that no matter where we go, we carry a piece of Guyana with us, from the sounds of the market at Stabroek to the laughter that fills the air during our celebrations.
