Hello! My name is Kenan Fedricks, and I’m proud to call Mission in the Barima-Waini region of Guyana my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant waterways, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the rich culture, diverse communities, and of course, the amazing food that Guyana has to offer. Whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot during special occasions or sharing stories over some cook-up rice, food is a universal thread that connects us all, transcending borders and generations.
As a resident of this beautiful land, I enjoy exploring our local gems, such as the Pomeroon and the Essequibo rivers, where the connection to nature feels almost spiritual. From the stunning views at the Arapiako Falls to the lively markets filled with fresh produce and homemade goods, there's always something new to discover. I take pride in sharing my experiences with friends and family, especially those in the diaspora who may not have visited recently. It’s heartwarming to hear stories of their trips back home and how they’ve fallen in love with our culture all over again.

Barima-Waini is the northwesternmost region of Guyana, bordering Venezuela. Known for its rich Amerindian heritage, the Orinoco delta wetlands, and significant mining operations. Population center is Mabaruma.
