Greetings! My name is Felecia Austin, and I proudly call the vibrant Coast Demerara home. Growing up in this rich cultural tapestry, I have been immersed in the warmth of Guyanese traditions, from the melodious sounds of calypso music to the tantalizing flavors of our beloved dishes, like pepperpot and rice. I take joy in the diverse heritage that defines our nation, where East Indian, African, and Amerindian influences come together, much like in the family stories shared by my neighbors, celebrating the legacies of ancestors who have shaped our identity.

Living here, I often find myself reflecting on the complexities of our society. Like many Guyanese, I share a nuanced relationship with politics; it can often feel as though our voices are lost in a sea of indifference.
