Hello! I’m Fernando Persaud, a proud resident of Essequibo, nestled in the picturesque region of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich flavors of our local cuisine, from mouthwatering pepperpot during the holidays to fresh fish dishes from the Essequibo River. I cherish every meal shared with family and friends, as food is a way we connect and celebrate our vibrant culture.
Living here, I’ve seen the challenges our community faces, especially with the rising cost of living that impacts so many. Yet, amid these trials, I hold onto hope and strength that defines us as Guyanese.
