Greetings! My name is Feyaz Habeb, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Growing up in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have always been surrounded by the vibrant culture of Guyana. Whether it’s enjoying a steaming bowl of pepper pot with slice bread during festive gatherings or celebrating Mashramani with my community, every moment adds to the rich tapestry of my Guyanese identity. As a clerk, I am passionate about supporting my fellow citizens and promoting our local initiatives.
I am deeply connected to both my homeland and the broader diaspora. Like many Guyanese, I carry a piece of our culture wherever I go, whether it's cheering for our national cricket team or sharing stories of our diverse heritage. I often reflect on how Guyana is a unique blend of influences, with elements that resonate from as far as India to our neighboring Colombia.
