Greetings! My name is Fidel Charles, and I proudly call the beautiful village of Karawab in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Nestled between the lush rainforests and winding rivers, my community is a rich blend of cultures, reflecting our fascinating history and diverse heritage. As someone who resonates deeply with the warmth of our people, I cherish the vibrant festivities like Mashramani and Diwali, where we celebrate our East Indian roots alongside the traditions of our Amerindian and Afro-Guyanese neighbors.
Living in Karawab, I'm surrounded by the bounty of our land. You can often find me indulging in local dishes such as pepperpot and cook-up rice, prepared with love and shared among friends and family. I believe that a meal is not just about the food but the stories and laughter that come with it. Additionally, I have a profound appreciation for our natural landmarks, from the majestic Essequibo River to the incredible Kaieteur Falls, which showcase the sheer beauty of our homeland and remind us of our connection to nature.
