Hello! My name is Francis Gonsalves, and I’m a proud labourer hailing from the beautiful Pomeroon region in Guyana. Nestled in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve grown up surrounded by the vibrant culture and rich traditions of our country. From the rhythmic sounds of chutney music to the enticing aromas of our local cuisine, including the beloved eggball and the refreshing snowcone drizzled with condensed milk, every day is a celebration of what it means to be Guyanese.
Living in Guyana, I’ve witnessed the highs and lows—from the challenges of rising costs for everyday goods to the warmth of our community spirit. I often reminisce about the days spent at the banks of the Pomeroon River, sharing stories with friends and family. Whether it's enjoying a hearty peanut punch in the mornings or gathering with my neighbors for a festive meal, these moments are what make life here special.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I have with those abroad. It warms my heart to see my fellow Guyanese thriving in diverse fields, from the medical profession to the arts, just like the talented Letitia Wright. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
