About VINCENT FRANCIS

About Vincent Francis

Greetings! My name is Vincent Francis, and I proudly hail from the beautiful River region in Barima-Waini, Guyana. As a dedicated miner, I work in one of the most vibrant sectors of our economy, where the rich natural resources of our land offer not only livelihoods but also a profound connection to our heritage. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I've always felt a deep appreciation for our bountiful environment and the strength of our community.

Guyana is a unique blend of cultures, and I take pride in being part of this vibrant mosaic. From savoring local dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to celebrating our rich traditions, including Mashramani and Diwali, the flavors and festivities of our homeland are woven into the fabric of my daily life. I often reminisce about the stories passed down through generations about leaders like Janet Jagan, whose contributions continue to inspire us, especially regarding women's empowerment in our society.

As someone who also cherishes the connection with our diaspora, I understand the importance of community beyond our borders. I often find myself engaged with fellow Guyanese in places like NYC and across the globe, exchanging stories and experiences that remind us of our roots and our shared journey. Whether it's discussing the beauty of our landscapes or the warmth of our people, I am always eager to celebrate our Guyanese identity, wherever I may find myself.
