Hello! I'm Franklin Couchman, a devoted farmer from the vibrant community of River Kumaka along the Essequibo River in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in the lush soils of Guyana, where I cultivate a variety of crops that not only support my family but also contribute to our local markets. From planting rice to tending to my vegetable patch, every day brings a connection to the land that my ancestors worked before me.
Life here is a blend of cultures, and you can often find me enjoying a plate of roti, reminding me of our rich Indian heritage. It’s a common joke among friends that with all the roti I eat, I should be married to a girl of Indian descent! But truly, it's the warmth of our multicultural society that makes Guyana special. Our unique blend of Indian, African, Amerindian, and European influences can be seen in everything from our food to our festivals, and I take immense pride in representing this diversity.
