Hello! I'm Terence Fredricks, a proud miner from the lush and vibrant region of Mission in Barima-Waini, Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of our rainforests and rivers, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and rich resources that our country offers. Whether it's the mesmerizing Pomeroon River or the serene surroundings of Karawab, the great outdoors has always played a significant role in my life. The sound of the anaconda whispering through the leaves or the joy of dancing at local weddings keeps my spirit connected to our heritage.
My work in mining has not only been a means of livelihood but also a way to contribute to the community. I enjoy sharing stories and laughter with my fellow miners over a hearty plate of pepperpot or some tasty cook-up rice, often washed down with a cold drink after a long day. There's something special about gathering with family and friends, reminiscing about the past and celebrating our culture, especially when the rum kicks in and the rhythm of our music fills the air!
As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain, whether it's a comment on social media from a fellow compatriot or catching up with relatives abroad.
