Greetings! I’m Gaitree Churuman, a dedicated teacher residing in the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically at 64 Suddie Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My passion for education is deeply intertwined with my love for our rich Guyanese culture, where I strive to instill pride and knowledge in my students. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our ten regions, I have always been fascinated by our diverse heritage, from the savory delights of pepperpot and roti to the captivating stories passed down through generations.
As a proud member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with each other, whether it’s through social media or gatherings that celebrate our roots. While I enjoy sharing tales of the Essequibo River and the communities like the Pom River Borada Settlement, I also appreciate the shared experiences that unite us across continents. It’s heartwarming to hear my students recount snippets of their family histories, much like the comments I’ve seen reflecting our collective journey — a reminder that no matter where we are, the essence of Guyana remains strong.
