Hello! My name is Ganesh Kanhai, and I proudly reside in the Essequibo Coast 46 Housing Scheme Jib, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I work hard to support my family and contribute to my community. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the Pomeroon River flows gracefully and the lush landscapes are a testament to our rich natural heritage.
Growing up here, I've been fortunate to experience the warmth of Guyanese culture, from the savory delights of our local cuisine, like pepperpot and cook-up rice, to the vibrant celebrations that bring our community together. I often reminisce about those joyful days spent at the riverside, soaking in the laughter of friends and family. The Pomeroon River Mission in Karawab holds a special place in my heart, reminding me of the connections that tie us to our ancestors and this cherished land.
Though I am deeply rooted in my homeland, I love to connect with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora.
