Growing up surrounded by the beautiful Pomeroon River, the natural beauty of my community inspires my work. I often reminisce about the days spent enjoying a plate of pepperpot or fresh fish from the river, sharing these experiences with neighbors and friends. My connection to Guyana runs deep; we may not be nestled in the Caribbean Sea, but we proudly identify as Caribbean people, celebrating our culture and history, especially through food and community gatherings.
