Hello! I’m Garner James, a proud miner from the River Curimeru Settlement in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Nestled between lush forests and winding rivers, my home is a reflection of the vibrant culture and diverse communities that make our country so special. When I’m not working hard in the gold mines, you can find me enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot or sipping on some sweet mauby, all while sharing stories with friends and family about our rich heritage and the legends of the Essequibo River.
Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural beauty and the warmth of our people. Whether it’s the lively sounds of a local cricket match or the sweet aroma of fried plantains wafting through the air, there’s always something that reminds me of home. I take pride in connecting with the diaspora community, where we often reminisce about our experiences and strive to keep our culture alive through food, music, and shared memories.
