Hello! My name is Garvin Trim, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, my roots run deep in the rich soil of this vibrant region. As a farmer, I cultivate various crops that are staples of our local cuisine, from golden rice to sweet, juicy cassava. There's nothing quite like sharing a meal of pepperpot or cook-up rice with family and friends, celebrating our diverse heritage and the flavors that make Guyana unique.
Living in Airy Hall, I’m surrounded by the natural beauty that defines our country, with waterways that sing of our Indigenous heritage and the warmth of our communities that embrace both locals and the diaspora. I often reminisce about the stories shared with those who have ventured far and wide, whether they’re from the River Comaro Settlement or elsewhere in our beautiful land. It’s these connections that keep our culture alive, no matter where we find ourselves in the world.
As I work the land, I’m reminded of the strength and resilience of the Guyanese spirit. It’s the laughter of children playing outside, the sound of rain on a zinc roof, and the vibrant markets filled with the freshest produce that keep me grounded. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
