Greetings! My name is Gavin Gomes, a dedicated farmer rooted in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the rich, fertile soil of this region, I’ve cultivated not only crops but a deep appreciation for the rich agricultural heritage that embodies our Guyanese culture. From cash crops like rice and sugarcane to the vibrant fruits and vegetables that grace our markets, my work reflects the heart and soul of our community.
As I navigate the rhythms of farm life, I’m also deeply connected to the rich traditions of our people. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot during the festive season or sharing a cup of strong, locally brewed coffee with neighbors, these moments nourish my spirit and foster a sense of unity.
