Hello! I’m Geary Charles, a proud Guyanese foreman residing in the tranquil Lower Pomeroon River School Island, Akawini in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Having spent much of my life here, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for not only the natural beauty of our rivers and forests, but also for the unique blend of cultures that make up our society. Guyana, along with its neighbors Suriname and French Guiana, truly is a world of its own—so much so that it's a topic of conversation among the diaspora. I often hear comments like “Guyanese people are the best” and “definitely worth a visit,” which makes me proud to share my home’s beauty with others, both near and far.
