Greetings! My name is Gershom Warren, and I proudly call Karawab in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a dedicated jetman, I navigate the skies to connect our lush landscapes with the vibrant communities that our diaspora has established around the world. My journey has allowed me to witness the beauty of our land—from the rich banks of the Pomeroon River to the flourishing rice fields that symbolize the resilience and hard work of our people.
Growing up in Guyana, I was deeply influenced by the rich cultural heritage that defines our nation. From the tantalizing aroma of pepperpot simmering on Christmas morning to the lively festivities during Mashramani, I cherish the flavors and traditions that unite us. Our connection to India, exemplified by the beautiful Radha Krishna temple, is just one of the many ways our diverse backgrounds come together to create a unique Guyanese identity. I often reminisce about the community gatherings, where stories are shared, and laughter echoes through the air, reminding me of the strength we draw from each other.
Though I may be far from home at times, I remain deeply rooted in my culture and committed to giving back to my community. Whether it’s through engaging with fellow Guyanese in Canada, Sweden, or elsewhere, I find joy in sharing our stories and bridging the gap between our homeland and the global diaspora. Together, we celebrate our shared heritage and inspire the next generation to carry our traditions forward.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
