About GHAN SHAM RAMJOHAN

About Ghan Ramjohan

Greetings! My name is Ghan Ramjohan, and I proudly call the River Kaibourie Canal Dredge in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a farmer, I have a deep connection to the land and the rich agricultural traditions that define our vibrant Guyanese culture. From cultivating cash crops like rice and cassava to rearing livestock, my work is not just about sustenance—it's about preserving the lifestyle and heritage that have been passed down through generations. When I'm not tending to my farm, you can often find me enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot or a bowl of metemgee, celebrating the flavors that make our cuisine unique.

Living in Guyana, a country known for its lush rainforests and diverse wildlife, I find inspiration in the beauty that surrounds me. The River Grant Trial reminds me of the adventurous spirit of our people, always seeking to explore and connect with nature. While many people outside of our borders may not yet see Guyana as a gem, I believe that our nation is emerging, especially with our newfound resources. There’s excitement in the air as we navigate this journey together, with guidance from friends around the world who appreciate our potential.

As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the bonds we share—whether it's through stories about life back home or the challenges we face together abroad. Although times can be tough, I hold onto the hope that we will continue to uplift one another and foster understanding. So let’s connect, exchange tales, and work towards a brighter future for our beloved Guyana!
