Hello! My name is Ghaneshwar Hemraj, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the beautiful Dutch Quarter of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have spent my life surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities that define our region. As a guard, I take pride in ensuring the safety and well-being of my community, always keeping an eye out for the familiar faces of my neighbors who are as warm and welcoming as the sun that rises over the Pomeroon River.
Growing up near the Pomeroon River, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local culture. Whether it's gathering for a hearty meal of pepperpot and metemgee or taking part in the lively celebrations of Mashramani, our traditions are close to my heart. The spirit of unity and resilience that runs through our communities is something I cherish, and I believe it is what makes us Guyanese. With a strong connection to my roots, I also recognize the importance of our diaspora, as many of our brothers and sisters abroad continue to uplift our homeland in various ways.
As I navigate life here in Guyana, I remain committed to fostering a sense of belonging and security for all.
