Hello! My name is Glenda Venture, and I proudly call the beautiful Coast 12 Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in this vibrant community, I have always been surrounded by the rich flavors and traditions that define our Guyanese culture. As a dedicated cook, I enjoy preparing an array of dishes that reflect our diverse heritage, from aromatic pepperpot to sweet and spicy fruitcake. Each meal is a tribute to the generations that have blended their culinary practices, making our cuisine a true representation of Guyana's melting pot of cultures.
With a family history deeply rooted in this land, I cherish the stories passed down from my parents and grandparents. They often shared tales of our ancestors, who persevered through challenges, much like the resilience I see in my fellow Guyanese today. I also feel a strong connection to the diaspora, as many of my cousins and friends have ventured abroad, sharing our culture while creating new lives. It's heartwarming to hear them reminisce about home and the flavors that remind them of their roots, like the delicious cook-up rice that brings everyone together.
In my free time, I love exploring the lush landscapes of Guyana, from the serene Pomeroon River to the bustling streets of Georgetown. I believe it’s essential to celebrate our beautiful country and all it has to offer, whether through food, music, or simply sharing a laugh with friends.
