Welcome! My name is Joy Venture, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast home, specifically from 27 Kilkenny Street in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Rooted in the rich and diverse culture of Guyana, I cherish our vibrant traditions, from the delicious flavors of pepperpot to the lively sounds of our folk music. The Pomeroon River, with its stunning landscapes, holds a special place in my heart, as it reflects the spirit of our community and the natural beauty of our land.
In my daily life, I celebrate the unique blend of cultures that define Guyana—an intersection of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences that come together to create something truly special. I enjoy sharing stories of my experiences growing up here, whether it’s reminiscing about gatherings under the lush canopies of our forests or savoring dishes like cook-up rice at family celebrations. I also take pride in connecting with the Guyanese diaspora around the globe, as we all share a love for our homeland, whether it's expressed through a heartfelt shoutout from the Philippines or a fond memory shared by a friend in Belgium.
