Welcome! My name is Gloria Narayan, a proud teacher residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast in Johanna Cecilia, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Guyana, with its vibrant communities and rich cultural heritage, has shaped who I am today. I strive to inspire my students just as I was inspired by the warm-hearted stories of my ancestors and the unique experiences that define our nation. Despite being away from my homeland for stretches of time, my heart often wanders back to the sweet taste of a snowcone drizzled with condensed milk and the comforting aroma of freshly made eggballs.
Living here, I embrace the beauty of our diverse culture, often reflecting on the spirited debates about our Caribbean identity. Geographically, we may not be considered part of the Caribbean, but I wholeheartedly believe that our history and traditions connect us deeply to it. Whether it's sharing a plate of pepperpot or discussing the best local spots like the Plaisance Line Top, I enjoy engaging with others who share a love for our homeland.
