About EULANDA TABITA SMITH

About Eulanda Smith

Greetings! My name is Eulanda Smith, and I am a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the stunning landscapes of our nation, from the enchanting Kaieteur Falls to the lush greenery of River Ireland Island Akawini, I have always been inspired by the rich cultural heritage and diversity that defines our society. Whether it's the vibrant sounds of a Guyanese wedding—a delightful three-day celebration filled with love, laughter, and the irresistible aromas of local cuisine—or simply sharing a plate of pepperpot with family, each experience deepens my connection to both my roots and my students.

As an educator, I strive to instill a sense of pride in my students about their Guyanese identity and the unique blend of cultures that shape our community. It’s important for them to understand the significance of our history and traditions while also engaging with the global diaspora that has spread from our shores. I often encourage discussions about our vibrant Karibbean cultures, reminding my students that even though we have unique perspectives, we are all part of the beautiful mosaic that is Guyana.

Living on the Coast 132 Public Road, I cherish the moments spent with my students, sharing stories about our ancestors, and exploring the wonders of our home. Whether we are debating the nuances of our local dialects or planning our next community service project, I aim to foster a sense of belonging and unity. My hope is that together, we can celebrate our past and look forward to a bright future, remembering that no matter where we are, Guyana will always be a part of who we are.
