Welcome! My name is Gomattie Bissoon, and I proudly call the beautiful community of Richmond, located on the Essequibo Coast, my home. Growing up in this vibrant area of Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and heritage. From the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region to the lively sounds of our local markets, every aspect of my environment has shaped who I am today.
As a true Guyanese, I have a profound love for our culinary traditions. There's nothing quite like the taste of curry goat or curry chicken paired with steaming rice, a staple that brings family and friends together. Whether it's gathering for a festive meal or enjoying some delicious "Pom" by the river, the flavors of our food tell the story of our community and our love for life. I also enjoy sharing these experiences with those in the diaspora who long for a taste of home, as I know how it feels to be separated from the vibrant flavors and sounds of Guyana.
