Hello! I’m Gunwattie Dass, a devoted teacher residing along the beautiful Coast 138 Public Road in Lima, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, rich history, and the warmth of our people. Whether it's sharing stories of the majestic Essequibo River or bonding over a plate of our beloved Duck Curry, I believe in celebrating the unique flavors and traditions that make Guyana truly special.
As a passionate educator, I aim to inspire my students to embrace their heritage and foster a sense of pride in their identity as Guyanese. Our culture is a beautiful blend of influences, from the sounds of our local chutney music to the delectable Chinese cuisine that many argue is the best in the Caribbean! It brings me joy to hear comments from the diaspora, reminiscing about the tastes of home and the memories attached to them. One People, One Nation, One Destiny—these words resonate deeply with me as we continue to weave our stories together, no matter where we are in the world.
In my spare time, I enjoy engaging with the community, sharing experiences with fellow Guyanese, and exploring the natural beauty that surrounds us. I hold dear the connections we've built, both locally and abroad. It’s always heartwarming to see others experience the rich culture of Guyana, and I strive to ensure that my students are proud ambassadors of our land, carrying the essence of our home wherever they go.
