Greetings! My name is Pearlette BhoLO-Johnson, a dedicated teacher based in Anna Regina, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of my homeland, I have always been passionate about education and empowering the next generation. My approach to teaching is inspired by the rich tapestry of cultures that make Guyana unique, including the influences of our Indigenous peoples, Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Chinese communities. I believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive and appreciate our diverse heritage.
One of my fondest memories is sharing local delicacies like pepperpot and roti with my friends and family, and I often use food as a way to connect with my students. The culinary richness of our nation not only reflects our history but also brings us together as a community. Whether it's enjoying a meal of sweet and sour chicken from a local Chinese restaurant or indulging in fresh pineapples that provide a refreshing taste of home, these experiences are essential to my identity as a Guyanese.
