Greetings! My name is Lalina Ramnarine, and I am a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful town of Anna Regina, located in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and rich cultural heritage of my homeland, I have developed a deep appreciation for our diverse traditions, from the vibrant festivals celebrated throughout the year to the mouthwatering flavors of our national dish, Pepperpot. While some may argue about Guyana's place in the Caribbean, I proudly embrace our unique identity, shaped by a blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences.
As an educator, I strive to inspire the next generation by incorporating our local customs into the curriculum. I believe that understanding our history and culture, including the significance of Rastas in the community and the stories behind our local landmarks, is essential for fostering a sense of belonging and pride among my students.
