Hello! I’m Hamechand Singh, a police officer based in the vibrant community of Anna Regina, located in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful country of Guyana, a place where the rich blend of cultures, from our Indigenous heritage to the influences of African, Indian, and Chinese traditions, shape our daily lives. It’s a place where every meal, from a delicious plate of pepperpot to a spicy roti, tells a story of our shared history.
I’ve dedicated my career to serving and protecting my community, ensuring safety and justice while fostering connections with my fellow Guyanese. I often reminisce about childhood adventures along the Essequibo River and the warmth of family gatherings during Phagwah and Diwali. Just like many from our diaspora, I carry a piece of home with me, whether it’s a craving for curry or the rhythm of our local music that brings back memories of festive times.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the small moments that make our culture unique—from the bustling markets filled with fresh produce to the serene beauty of the Kaieteur Falls.
