Hello! I’m Hardat Khelawan, a proud labourer from Wakenaam, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant community, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for our local culture—whether it’s enjoying a plate of mouthwatering pepper pot during the holidays or gathering with family and friends for a lively lime filled with laughter and stories. My roots are firmly planted here, but I also cherish the connections I’ve made with the Guyanese diaspora, sharing our traditions and experiences across borders.
Living in Wakenaam, I’m fortunate to be surrounded by the lush beauty of our landscapes, from the winding Pom River to the bustling markets where we buy fresh produce. It’s a place where community comes first, and each day is an opportunity to contribute to our local economy and lend a hand to my neighbors.
