Hello! My name is Hayma Persaud, and I’m a proud nurse residing along the beautiful East Bank Essequibo. Growing up in Guyana, I have always cherished our rich cultural heritage, which reflects the diversity of our people. From the vibrant festivals celebrating various religions and races to the mouthwatering flavors of our traditional dishes like pepper pot, every aspect of our culture holds a special place in my heart. I believe that our ability to come together and celebrate each other’s holidays showcases the true spirit of unity in our community.
Having spent much of my life in the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am deeply connected to the natural beauty that surrounds us. Whether it's the majestic Essequibo River or the warmth of our local markets, these elements not only define our environment but also remind me of the importance of preserving our unique identity.
