Greetings from the heart of Guyana! My name is Heimala Dookie, and I proudly call Bank Essequibo my home. Nestled in the lush region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, this vibrant community is a reflection of the rich cultural mosaic that is Guyanese life. Having grown up surrounded by the echoes of cricket matches, the aroma of freshly made dhal puri, and the stories passed down from generations, I carry a piece of my homeland wherever I go. I have always believed that our food, like dhal puri served with spicy curry or stewed pumpkin, is a joyful vessel that brings us together, much like the community spirit that thrives here.
As a resident of such a diverse locale, I am grateful for the connections we have with our diaspora.
