Hello! My name is Hemchand Budhu, and I proudly call Essequibo my home, specifically the vibrant community of Block 8 New Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As an operator, I enjoy working with my hands and contributing to the local economy, all while being surrounded by the lush beauty of our land. Growing up in a place where the Pomeroon River flows and the sounds of the rainforest are a daily soundtrack has deeply shaped my perspective on life and community.
One of my greatest joys is sharing the rich flavors of Guyanese cuisine, particularly our beloved curry dishes. I often joke with friends about how some of the best meals can sometimes leave you questioning what's truly in the pot—was that really duck? 😂 Food is a unifying force for us, whether it's enjoying a meal with family or savoring a taste of home with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora. I cherish those moments when we come together, reminiscing about our roots, like the picturesque Apoteri and Rewa villages or the bustling vibes of Georgetown.
